Welcome To Blue Ice Alaska Charters in Beautiful Seward Alaska
Step aboard with our family-driven crew for an authentic Alaskan fishing experience. Operating out of Resurrection Bay for over six years, Blue Ice Alaska Charters was built on a simple promise: provide top-tier gear, high-energy hospitality, and direct access to the most productive ocean grounds in the Gulf of Alaska.
While many local boats stay close to well-traveled harbor spots, we utilize our custom-built fleet to push past the crowds toward remote, high-yield structure. Whether you are aiming to haul up powerful bottom fish such as Pacific halibut, lingcod, and rockfish, or hook fast-action salmon, our crew handles every detailโfrom providing technique-specific, pro-grade tackle to expertly filleting your catch right on deck.
The Blue Ice Advantage:
Extended Range & Capacity: Purpose-built vessels equipped with the speed and stability to reach deep-water hotspots efficiently.
Pro-Grade Tackle: Outfitted with tough J-Braid line and technique-specific setupsโTeam Rainshadow rods paired with Avet EX reels for Halibut, Okuma jigging rods paired with Avet HXs for Lingcod, and Avet MXs paired with Daiwa Harrier rods for Salmon.
Family-First Hospitality: Experienced captains and energetic deckhands dedicated to guiding both seasoned anglers and first-time families.
Complete Transparency: Honest expectations, upfront pricing, and full compliance with state and federal regulations.
Seward Alaska Fishing Charters | Halibut, Salmon & Rockfish Combos
10 or 12-Hour Multi-Species Fishing Charters in Seward, Alaska
Two Species. One Unforgettable Day. A Full Cooler.
Embark on the ultimate full-day Alaskan angling adventure with Blue Ice Alaska Charters. Our signature multi-species charter is crafted for anglers who value quality over quantity, focusing intentionally on two target species so you get maximum time on the water, better hookups, and a freezer packed with fresh Alaskan catch.
How Your Day Unfolds
Your trip begins at the Seward harbor, where you will set sail past Resurrection Bay and head out toward the pristine, deep-water fishing grounds of the Gulf of Alaska. Along the way, you can take in breathtaking coastal scenery, from towering mountain peaks and glacier-carved fjords to frequent marine wildlife sightings including whales and sea otters.
We kick off the fishing action by targeting Alaskaโs ultimate bottom fish: Pacific Halibut. Your captain will guide you straight to remote, proven hotspots, spending dedicated hours putting you on powerful flatfish that can range up to 100+ pounds. Once your halibut limits are in the fish box, we pivot to an exciting secondary species. Target selection is based on the captain’s choice, daily availability, weather conditions, and seasonal regulations, always factoring in your group’s input. Depending on the time of year, your second target may include:
Aggressive Lingcod: Hard-fighting “dragonfish” lurking in deep structures (opens July 1st).
Yelloweye & Giant Rockfish: Fast-paced action featuring Yelloweye Rockfish (opens July 1st) and tasty Black Rockfish.
Silver & King Salmon: High-energy trolling or jigging for Silver Salmon (July and August) or King Salmon.
Why Choose Our Multi-Species Trip?
We run fast 10-hour trips on The Salty Loot and Yanichka, and an extended 12-hour excursion on the spacious Snowbird, ensuring every guest receives 4 to 5 solid hours of prime fishing time regardless of vessel speed. At the end of the day, you will return to the harbor with a diverse yield of prime Alaskan fillets, expertly bled, cleaned, and filleted on board by our energetic deckhands so they are ready for local Seward processors.
Safety and comfort are at the center of every excursion. Every vessel in our fleet is equipped with life rafts, an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), life jackets, and all US Coast Guard-required safety gear. You will fish with total confidence using top-tier tackle, including USA-made Avet reels, custom Team Rainshadow rods, and tough J-Braid line, backed by state-of-the-art Garmin electronics.

First, Captain Joe didn't hesitate to make sure that everyone on the boat had the trip of a lifetime. He took us to gorgeous, secluded locations outside of Resurrection Bay that we had to ourselves with no other boats in sight. There were so many fish that they basically jumped in the boat. It was clear that he put in 110% to make sure we had the trip of a lifetime.
Then, there was Trey; in 30 years of charter fishing, I have never met a deck hand with more energy and enthusiasm for his craft. He was more excited about the fish that we were catching than we were.
The Salty Loot was the finest charter boat that I have ever had the pleasure to board.
...and oh, by the way...
We caught HOGS for 2 days straight! We clearly out classed all other charters in the pier.
...Lots of other fish as well...June 3rd, 2024... I do recommend this Crew and will fish again with them next time in the Area.... Dominick /Lou

Seward Lingcod Charters | Deep-Water Monsters & Reef Predators
The hidden gem of Alaskan fisheries, these aggressive dragon fish deliver serious fights. Experience the trophy hunt for another fish of the lifetime!
Targeting Pacific lingcod out of Seward is one of the most intense, rod-bending adventures in the Gulf of Alaska. Known for their razor-sharp teeth, aggressive strikes, and massive mouths, these apex reef predators require deep-water persistence, heavy-duty tackle, and precise vessel positioning over rocky pinnacles.
Opening annually on July 1st per ADF&G regulations, our lingcod excursions take you far beyond the heavily fished inner bay grounds to remote ocean structures, submerged drop-offs, and high-yield reefs where trophy-sized “dragons” dwell.
What to Expect on a Blue Ice Lingcod Trip
Targeted Deep-Water Structure: We hunt deep ocean pinnacles and jagged rock piles where giant lingcod ambush prey, often pairing lingcod drops with rockfish and halibut for a prime bottom-fish harvest.
Heavy-Action Jigging: Experience non-stop action using heavy metal jigs, giant soft-plastics, and live-bait setups designed to trigger aggressive strikes from territorial fish.
Pro-Grade Heavy Tackle: Fight these powerful reef dwellers with equipment built specifically for the taskโOkuma jigging rods paired with high-torque Avet HX reels and low-stretch J-Braid to feel every subtle bite at depth.
The Blue Ice Lingcod Advantage
Extended Ocean Range: Our fast, custom-built fleet (Salty Loot, Yanichka, and Snowbird) allows us to reach untouched, outer-coast reefs quickly, giving you maximum fishing time over active structure.
Expert Deckside Processing: Lingcod yield thick, pristine white-meat fillets. Our deckhands bleed, care for, and fillet your catch right on deck so it arrives at the processor in peak condition.
Seasoned Captains: Navigating heavy ocean currents over precise rock structure requires captain expertiseโour team stays locked over the structure so your jig remains right in the strike zone.
Reservation Details
Season Opener: Opens July 1st (runs through the end of the season).
Trip Types: Available on full-day multi-species charters (10โ12 hours) across all three vessels.
Compliance: Strictly adhering to current ADF&G size limits, bag limits, and regulatory closures to protect the fishery.
Seward Salmon Charters | Silver, King & Rockfish Combos
Targeting Alaska salmon in Resurrection Bay and the outer Gulf waters is a high-octane, fast-action fishery. From the deep-water power of early-season King (Chinook) Salmon to the explosive acrobatics of mid-summer Silver (Coho) Salmon, Blue Ice Alaska Charters delivers a tailored, high-performance experience on the water.
We outfit every angler with top-grade, technique-specific gearโDaiwa Harrier salmon rods paired with smooth, powerful Avet MX reelsโgiving you maximum feel and control when a salmon takes a hard run.
Choose Your Salmon Adventure
1. Early-Season Full-Day King Salmon Charters (10โ12 Hours)
Target Species: King (Chinook) Salmon
Season: May through June (Peak Early Season)
Overview: King salmon are our primary focus early in the season when heavy schools of bait enter the Gulf waters. To consistently target feeder Kings and early-run Chinook, we run out toward the outer capes, islands, and ocean points. This full-day commitment gives us the time and range necessary to work deep trolling grids or mooching drifts for Alaskaโs premier gamefish.
Duration: Full-Day (10โ12 Hours)
Vessel Options:
Private 6-Pack Charters: On The Salty Loot or Yanichka (up to 6 guests).
Private or Open-Party Group Charters: On our USCG-inspected vessel Snowbird (accommodating up to 12 anglers).
2. Mid-to-Late Season Silver Salmon & Rockfish Combos
Target Species: Silver (Coho) Salmon & Pelagic Rockfish
Season: July through August / Early September
Overview: The ultimate high-action, family-friendly trip. Silver salmon flood Resurrection Bay starting in July. We troll or mooch in high-traffic bait zones for limit-style silver action, then head to coastal rock piles to complete your fish box with hard-fighting rockfish.
Trip Durations & Vessels:
5-Hour Express Trip: On our faster 6-pack private vessels (The Salty Loot & Yanichka).
7-Hour Extended Combo: On Snowbird (available for private or open-party groups up to 12 anglers), giving larger groups extra time on the water.
The Blue Ice Salmon Advantage
Technique-Specific Tackle: No heavy “broomstick” rods or clunky rental gear. Our Avet MX and Daiwa Harrier setups are light in the hand yet built to handle hard-running fish with precision drag.
Active Tactics: We don’t sit in idle queues. Our captains actively track bait balls using modern depth-sounder technology, adjusting trolling depths and mooching weights in real-time.
Pristine Deckside Processing: High-oil salmon meat spoils fast if mishandled. Every fish is immediately bled in cold seawater upon landing and hand-filleted deckside by our crew so your catch arrives at the processor in peak condition.
Reservationย Details & RegulationsLicensing Requirements:
King Salmon Stamp: Harvesting King salmon requires an additional King Salmon Stamp during the MayโJune season.
